About this site

This site was jointly developed by small businesses, universities and organisations responsible for managing flood risk locally and nationally. It is the first attempt to create a single point of access to all information on flooding and small businesses. You will find real-life stories about how Britain’s small businesses protect themselves from the impacts of floods and achieve greater business continuity. You will also find a range of tips and comments. Explore the SESAME site and see what useful information you can pick up from your fellow business-men and -women as they tell it how they see it. Dip in and see what you can find. Then, if you can, come back for more in a few days’ time. The site is organised around seven main ways in which businesses can become more flood-resilient. Start with whatever topic takes your fancy. In each, you’ll find a mixture of quick-to-absorb resources that cover the perspectives of a range of different businesses and flooding experts.

There’s also a Forum; here you can discuss these issues with other businesses and share knowledge and insights about how to prepare for floods. You can also read the latest news on flooding and business. Good luck and we hope you find something useful!
